Dr. K. A. Salam is one of the most senior and experienced neurologists in Kerala, currently serving as the Senior Consultant Neurologist at Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut. With an illustrious career spanning over four decades, he is widely respected for his clinical expertise, leadership in neurosciences, and contributions to medical education and research.

He began his medical career as a faculty member at Calicut Medical College and went on to establish the Department of Neurosciences at Baby Memorial Hospital, where he trained and mentored numerous neurologists. Dr. Salam was instrumental in introducing and popularizing thrombolytic therapy for stroke in the Malabar region.

A visionary leader, he served as Chairman of Neurosciences at Meitra Hospital from its inception in 2017 until June 2022, before rejoining Baby Memorial Hospital in July 2022. He is the founder of the Calicut Neurological Society (CNS) and has held key positions as the Past President of the Neurological Society of India (NSI) – Kerala Chapter, and the Kerala Association of Neurologists (KAN).

A passionate advocate of exercise as a therapeutic tool, Dr. Salam is also an avid sports enthusiast.
